Before buying this treadmill, I searched Amazon and looked at reviews of every treadmill in this price range. Pretty much every single treadmill had some kind of negative review… some had reports of breaking early and others had reports of overheating / smoke / potential fire hazard. I immediately ruled out any that had reviews of overheating etc. Of the remaining treadmills (all of which had reports of breaking quickly)… this one had the best reviews.

I took a chance on this treadmill.. but unfortunately after just 20 hours, the remote died (and the remote is needed to make this thing work). Thankfully the seller resolved this quickly and sent a new remote.

HOWEVER, I think I figured out what may be causing the remote problems for everyone. The day that my remote stopped working, I had paused the treadmill and left it plugged in and on for a few hours. When I came back, the remote wasn’t working. I tried to replace the battery, and this didn’t work either. I have now realized somehow that the remote unpaired itself from the treadmill.. so if anyone experiences this problem, just try to pair the remote and treadmill again (you press and hold the two buttons to the side of the M.. they are a volume button and the round arrow button… more detailed instructions are in the set up manual).

Either way, I think you can’t go wrong with this treadmill.. just be sure to get the $25 warrantee that lasts 2 years 🙂 just in case!

I rarely write reviews on things I buy from Amazon, but this was a rare case I needed to share my experience with this treadmill and the company.

Last year in October I wanted to buy a treadmill that would fit with my standing desk so I decided to go with a GOYOUTH treadmill based off of a fair price and overall decent reviews. Shipping took a little over a week to arrive, packaging was great, no damage at all to the treadmill. The only thing I didn’t like about it was the remote controller felt flimsy and had a weak range.

For the past 7-8 months I would walk for about 2 hours a night while playing games at my desk, so it has had a lot of daily use. I kept up with the maintenance of oiling the belt every 25 hours or so with silicone based oil. 3 weeks ago the treadmill would shut down suddenly and I started getting error messages on the screen that meant power failure when looking up the code in the user manual. I went on here right away to see if I could contact the company to see if the treadmill was under warranty and luckily it still had a few months left on the one-year warranty.

In a matter of 48 hours and 4 emails back and forth verifying the error messages I was receiving; I was able to choose whether I wanted a full refund or a new treadmill entirely. Since I had zero problems prior to these error messages I decided to give this company another shot and get a new treadmill shipped to me. About a week later the treadmill arrives which I would consider an upgraded model from the original. A much cleaner, durable unit, quieter belt, bigger LCD screen, remote control had more options and a much better connection. It’s like the company actually listened to all of the negative reviews on their first version and fixed everything, including their customer service.

If you are looking for a portable treadmill for your house or office this is absolutely one I would recommend ten times over.

I bought this treadmill when I was about 5 months into studying for the MCAT. I was spending upwards of 10 hours a day at my desk and was absolutely losing my mind over how sedentary my routine was. Unfortunately, the demands that studying and work placed on my schedule made it so that going out for walks or working out just wasn’t a possibility for me. I bought this along with the Tresanti standing desk from Costco. Making the change to a walking desk set-up made my life astronomically better…my mood has improved, along with my metabolism and sleep schedule. Now that I’m past my MCAT, I continue to utilize this treadmill as I work on my secondary applications. It has truly been such an incredible improvement in my day because I’m able to get everything that I need to get done completed AND not neglect my body/mind in the process.

A few things about the treadmill: it is a bit heavy, but nothing that isn’t manageable, especially with the wheels. I have a small bedroom and routinely unplug this and wheel it up against my wall so that it is out of the way and I don’t have any problems with it. It’s quieter than I expected it to be, which is nice. I usually use noise-canceling headphones and don’t even hear the treadmill, but even when I don’t use them the treadmill sounds don’t bother me. I don’t know if I just got a funky unit, but sometimes it beeps and randomly changes the setting (+/- 0.1 mph) even when I am not touching the remote. Kind of annoying, but it hasn’t bothered me enough to keep me from using it. Just keep the remote nearby.

Some suggestions: if you have carpet, get yourself a plastic desk chair mat to lay underneath it to help protect both your carpet and the treadmill. Get yourself a clamping monitor stand or something to prop your monitor up higher so that it is more ergonomic. Just be mindful of what clamp you get because the lip under the desk can make it a bit tricky to get a good fit. I ended up having to go to the hardware store and get a little block of wood to clamp the stand onto (they just used a piece of scrap wood and cut it to the size I needed so I got it for free). Get a fan!! You’re going to get more of a workout just from walking on this thing than you might expect. I recommend getting one with a remote so that you can adjust it without getting off.

One last thing…for what it’s worth, my friend came over and saw me using this and ended up buying one for herself and she also loves it. She echoes all the same sentiments I share about it so maybe consider this a 2-in-1 review.
