All in all, I do believe these things works. I have been much more conscious of hydration after getting severely ill from dehydration.
Originally, these were to help prevent hangovers, which they did most of the time. I would drink one before, during, and after my day/night out and they did the trick! Minimal hangovers (or at least not full hangovers). I love that they are low sugar and easy transportation as well as in a sturdy case. I tried other powder packet mixes and once one rips open in your backpack or pocket, you never want to deal with them again. I prefer drip-drop over them but the price per unit on these is much better. However, I do think Drip-Drop is faster acting and more noticeable.
Main reasons I dropped a star is because the large price increase and Tropical flavor taste change.
It used to be my favorite flavor, but now it almost leaves a plastic aftertaste which I am not a fan of.
Bucyrus Oglethorpe III –
I’ve never had the “original” formulation, I just started using these tablets. I am active, mainly manual labor type of stuff. I’m very contentious about hydration during high stress activities, a kidney stone will teach that lesson clearly. During the summer when I’m working outdoors it isn’t uncommon for me to drink a gallon or more of water. I didn’t feel thirsty afterwards but did feel a bit “wrung out”. A friend suggested trying an electrolyte supplement, Nuun specifically. They have made a big difference in how I feel after strenuous activity in the heat. I’ll be using these from now on. As for the flavor, I’m dissolving these tablets (1) in a quart of water so the flavor is very diluted. I don’t mind the flavor, it reminds me of watered down Gatorade, back when it was in glass jars. What I’m definitely not looking for is a cloying, super flavor forward drink. I think that would make me feel ill after a long day in the heat. Good stuff, I will continue to purchase.

I have used this product regularly for the last two years and have no issues with it. Got Covid and this literally saved me from dehydration for the month I was bedridden with high fever and unable to eat or drink often. I was very surprised about the negative reviews that I was reading they seem to encompass three things. The first is that the product formulation has changed, I am also an Amazon seller and an avid fan of Amazon purchasing and I have noticed that in my capacity as business manager that due to supply chain issues things are constantly going in and out of stock or the product is changing. I’ve tasted the old one and I’ve tasted the new one and I have no complaints.
The second issue people note most often is that their package is damaged. This is because of Amazon delivery as well as the Amazon warehouses. You can pack it as well as you like and the fact of the matter is 100s of pounds of boxes are placed on top of some thing that is typically packed into a bubble mailer it will break. Is this the company‘s fault no. The fault lies with Amazon once again.
The third frequent complaint that I was reading in my research involves taste. This is not Gatorade with its 28 to 40 g of sugar. At most this product has 2 g of sugar compared to other hydration solutions that have anywhere from 8 g of sugar to 11 g of sugar. It does contain Stevia which gives a little bit of sweetness but if you are looking for a product that taste like Gatorade you should buy Gatorade. It won’t help you with your hydration all that much and it will raise your blood sugar into unhealthy levels but Gatorade is definitely sweet. This is a type of medicine and should be treated as such. If you are strictly Keto yes you shouldn’t eat any sugar, add any amount of sugar will cause you to start craving things. Not the best choice for intermittent fasting especially if you’re only eating one meal a day. However for the rest of us who are taking a sensible diet and exercise plan instead of frequently starving our body and putting it into a state of shock it is a fantastic tool in the hydration arsenal. I love it because I can take these tablets with me on vacation and there’s no messy packets that burst at awkward opportunities. It’s a lot smaller than hydration packets are typically so that is a big point of convenience to me and I keep one on me all of the time in my purse in just a little plastic bag just in case I’m on the road and I need it . My entire family uses this regularly for hot days or days where we are outside for a good portion of the day, camping, fishing, vacations. There are people who will complain about anything but as a consumer I have nothing to complain about with this hydration solution.
